Dr. Amy Ylimaki - Dentist
Dr. Amy Ylimaki is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario’s Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. She was born and raised in Nipigon,Ontario and obtained an honours bachelor of science degree in Biology and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Western Ontario. After graduating in 2007, she moved back to Northern Ontario, first working alongside experienced dentists, and opening Baywood Dental in 2010.
Amy’s true passion is providing the best oral health for her patients thorough comprehensive care tailored to their specific needs. She believes regular, preventative dental visits are key to maintaining a healthy smile. Amy strives to lead a team that consistently provides a friendly, caring environment for the entire family.
Amy is an active member of the dental community in Northwestern Ontario, being an executive member of Thunder Bay dental society including the role of President in 2021. She is a member of the Ontario Dental association, Canada Dental Association and Royal College of Dentists of Ontario. Amy is committed to continuing her education to better serve her family of patients.
Outside of the office, Amy enjoys spending summers at the lake and winters on the ski hill with her husband Scott, two daughters, Lakelan and Brynnley, and dog, Piper. Amy loves to travel and is a Disney enthusiast – she is known for helping her patients plan their next vacation!
Dr. Adrienne Kidd - Dentist
Dr. Adrienne Kidd was born and raised in Peterborough County, Ontario. She graduated Dentistry from University of Western Ontario in 2003. She has been living, practicing, and playing in Thunder Bay ever since. Outside of work, she spent her early years here at the gymnastics club, then had many years enjoying the area’s fabulous rock and ice climbing, and after that, there were several years of amusing herself and others with Flow Arts Performance. In recent years however, she simply enjoys the abundance of magnificent local trails with her dog, and crafting or doing puzzles at home while sipping tea.
Dr. Christian Mustapic - Dentist
Dr. Christian Mustapic has a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) from Lakehead University in 2016 and graduated from the University of Western Ontario’s Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2020.
Christian’s philosophy includes prevention and early detection of oral health issues, to prevent potential painful and expensive complications. He is focused on providing his patients with a relaxed and comfortable dental experience while providing the highest quality of care.
Outside of dentistry, Christian enjoys sports and is involved in the Thunder Bay sports community, and spending time with family and friends.
Lindsey
Born and raised in Thunder Bay, Lindsey has over twenty years of experience in the dental field. She graduated from dental assisting at Confederation College in 1995, and dental hygiene at Algonquin College in 2003. Lindsay strives for a positive patient experience through her conscientious manner along with a calm, gentle demeanor. In her time away from the dental chair, she enjoys camping, fishing and hunting with her husband and three children.
Nikki
As a registered dental hygienist with a passion for education, Nikki enjoys teaching her patients about oral health and brushing techniques. Nikki graduated from the dental hygiene program at Confederation College in 2010. Outside of work, Nikki is a self-professed workout guru - just don’t ask her to run any marathons!
Liz
Liz graduated from the dental assisting program at Confederation College and has been in the dental field in Thunder Bay for over 25 years. She has experience in both oral surgery and orthodontics, but is happy to be back in a general practice as part of the Baywood Dental team. In her free time, Liz enjoys golfing, long walks and spending time at camp with family and friends.
Carissa
Carissa started her career in the dental field as a Dental Assistant in 2007. To further pursue her passion for oral health she returned to Confederation College to study Dental Hygiene, graduating in 2015. Patient comfort is Carissa’s top priority as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She enjoys making a personal connection with all of her patients to promote a positive dental hygiene experience. She absolutely loves what she does which is evident when you are in her chair! Outside of work Carissa loves spending her time with her husband and three boys; seeking outdoor adventure or at the hockey rink.
Rose
Rose is a recent graduate of the dental assistant program at Confederation College. She has relocated from the Philippines, where she was a dentist. Rose has over twenty years experience working in the Middle East as an assistant and is a wealth of experience and knowledge! During her free time, Rose enjoys watching movies and spending time with her friends and family.
Ashley
Ashely graduated from the Level 2 dental assistant program at Confederation College in 2005. She has 15 years of hands on experience in the dental field and is a valuable wealth of knowledge. When she is not at the office, Ashley loves spending time with her husband and two daughters, gathering with family and friends and being outdoors.
Lan
As a Level 2 dental assistant, Lan has a wealth of experience being in the dental field for over eighteen years. Lan is fully committed to providing her patients with fully customized service to ensure a lifetime of healthy teeth. In her spare time, Lan enjoys camping with her family, cooking and hiking thorough the Northwestern Ontario area.
Karen
As a dedicated and hardworking member of the team, Karen is truly committed to her clients and their smiles. Karen graduated Confederation College from the dental assistant program in 1986, and dental hygiene in 1992. Away from the office, Karen enjoys cooking, wine tasting, long walks with her fur baby Otis, and spending time at camp with her son Jarrid and husband Mark.
Jyoti
Jyoti successfully completed the dental assisting and health administration programs at Confederation College during the 2022-23 academic year. Originally a dentist in India, she is currently on the path to obtaining her Canadian dental license . Have experience in dental field over 5 yers.Jyoti's dedication to her dental career is characterized by her friendly, caring, and composed nature. Beyond her professional life, she finds joy in gardening, shopping, and exploring her culinary skills.
Scott
Scott provides bookkeeping, payroll and other support to Baywood Dental. Scott graduated from Lakehead University in 2010 with a Honours Bachelor of Commerce and Professional Financial Planner certification. Outside of this role, Scott holds his CRA designation from the Appraisal Institute of Canada for appraising residential properties. Scott enjoys many sports including hockey and golf, spending time at the lake with his family and dabbling in woodworking and renovation projects.
